A CPL and a purchase permit serve different purposes
A concealed pistol license is a separate licensing process. Do not assume that guidance about buying a firearm answers every question about concealed carry or an existing CPL.
What is changing?
WSP’s implementation overview includes certification for concealed-pistol-license training. The agency’s July update distinguishes the training categories and describes a CPL category with a live-fire component. Read the WSP overview and its dated training update.
For the actual statutory requirements, use RCW 9.41.070, paying attention to the current and future effective-date headings.
Already have a CPL?
Check current guidance from your issuing authority and WSP for your particular application or renewal timeline. This page does not assert that every existing license holder must immediately complete new training.
Before booking training
Ask which licensing purpose the course covers, whether the specific program’s certification can be independently checked, and which completion record you will receive. A directory listing on this site is not proof of state certification.
