Washington State Patrol is developing the permit-to-purchase system and training certification process. Here’s what we know so far.
- The start date
- The new permit-to-purchase requirement begins May 1, 2027.
- The training
- WSP is establishing certification for firearms safety training programs.
- Still in progress
- Application systems and training certification procedures. WSP is targeting early 2027 for the online interfaces; that’s a target, not a confirmed opening.
